Things that God needs done;
In the book of Daniel there is an amazing prophecy. It started back in 457 BC and ended in 1844 AD. 457 BC # The Decree to rebuild Jerusalem; 408 BC Jerusalem completed; 27 AD Baptism of Jesus Christ; 31 AD Crucifixion of Jesus Christ; 34 AD Stoning of Stephen; 1844 AD Cleaning of the heavenly sanctuary. That is a very short over view of 2300 years.
We people need to see things, to say things; like, an idol, a crucifix, a stain glass window, the Lord Supper, a building, to pray in a straight line, bow down, kneel, to recite words and others things. If God needs these things too, then God is limited in his power. Then God's power, love, grace and mercy would come at a price; it would not be a free gift.
These physical things are not what God wants nor needs, but they are what you think you need to understand God. What you need is to talk to God; because, “Your God detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases God” and “If any one turns a deaf ear to the law, even his prayers are detestable”. What would God say to you? “For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgement of Me rather than burnt offering”; and, “To act justly to love mercy and to walk humbly with Me”. That is what God would say to you.
The prophecies in Daniel, Revelations and any other writing are not what God wants to happen. It is what will happen when we do not listen to God. I can tell you what you need to know, what you need to do; but then you would be listening to man not God.
Be truthful to your self. Have a talk with God, for about five minutes, then listen for ten minutes; because you have one mouth to talk with and two ears to listen with; therefore, take twice as long to listen. You will hear God speak to you. The better you get in listening to God, the closer you will get to God.
